Katie McTiernan is a freelance photographer, writer, and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA. She was born and raised in Flint, MI and still spends much of her time there.

Much of her time is spent at the USA/Mexican border and in Mexico. She is available for work world-wide.

She went to the University of Michigan for Cultural/Medical Anthropology.

Katie’s work has appeared in Time, New York Times, BBC, Zeit Online, Texas Public Radio, NPR, ETC-Sweden, Motherjones, CNN, NBC, Göteborgs-Posten, and others. She also works with regularly with Anadolu Photo Agency, Reuters, and Honey Head Films.

In addition, she works as a stills photographer on movie sets. Sometimes she works in radio, too (and really loves it!).

Katie is also seasoned writer and teaching herself filmmaking. Currently working on a documentary.
